Personalised code art poster builder that transforms names and messages into wall art using maritime flags, Morse code, semaphore, and more.
Encoding systems are already beautiful — maritime signal flags especially, which is why they end up on nursery walls with nobody knowing what they spell. The question was whether you could type a word and get a print worth hanging, without the result looking like clip art.
Five systems ship: International Maritime Signal Flags, Morse, Semaphore, Braille and 8-bit binary. Semaphore is the one that justified the effort — a little figure per letter, arms at the signalling angles, and JOY reads as three poses rather than three glyphs. The screenshot is that exact state: A3, portrait, print.
The builder previews live as you type. Orientation, paper size (A4/A3/A2) and product (print, canvas, framed) all repaint immediately, and an optional letter legend and dedication line turn the piece into a gift rather than a poster. The gift-ideas page groups suggestions by occasion — weddings, new babies, housewarmings — with the encoding that suits each.
Vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript rendering straight to SVG. No framework, no build step, no dependencies; work in progress persists to localStorage so a half-composed poster survives a closed tab.
